Delta on Tuesday boosted its fees for domestic travel to $23 for the first checked bag and $32 for the second one, up from $15 and $25, respectively. Try to get more in less bags but watch the weight limits. Take your essentials plus at least one change of clothes in your carry on.

We spent a couple of weeks in the beautiful NorthWest USA- Oregon, Washington, Idaho and a bit of Montana- I will share some of what we liked over the next few days.

We made the mistake of taking a later flight from Florida through Houston and hit some storms. This caused us to miss our connection- need to fly earlier in the day in the summer.

Continental gave us a coupon for a Trip Interruption hotel service and they got us a nice room for $59- we paid because the delay was weather-related but at least it was reasonable.

It is better to book airline tickets directly from their sites- sometimes but often it can be more hassle than it is worth. And, many are now charging a booking fee as well. If you do book this way make sure it includes all the extra taxes and fees.
